60 - HIS CARE & FAMILY'S TEASING

Ignore If you want just let me pour my heart ♡

Hey my dear readers,

I don’t know if anyone will actually read or care about this note. But after wiping my tears, taking a deep breath, and trying to calm my racing heart… here I am, speaking straight from my heart.

I’ve poured so much of myself into this story.

I know I’m just a new author, and maybe my work isn’t even reaching many people yet. But I’m someone who has spent most of her life feeling invisible, ignored.

When I stepped into writing, I didn’t expect miracles. I only hoped that I would try my best—that I’d at least give myself a chance. But sometimes, it feels like fate has other plans, completely opposite to what I dream.

Honestly, I’m sorry—I don’t even know what else to say.

(Takes a deep, long breath…)

Am I really not good enough? Or am I just… terribly bad at this?

I know maybe no one will read this, but still, I’m writing it. smirks Foolish of me, right?

~ mujhe lag rha hai main bas ek darwaza thok rahi hu jo kabhi nahi khulega

The Next Morning

Shashi woke up and bathed, taking her time-her body still sore, as Aakash had gently instructed her not to do any work for now.

She slipped into his oversized light grey shirt-soft and a little too big for her-and paired it with her own loose black trousers. Standing in front of the mirror, she spotted the fading love marks on her neck. Just then, two strong arms sneaked around her waist from behind, his palms resting possessively on her stomach.

"Janwar hai kya aap, Aakash?" she snapped, tracing one of the marks with her finger.

"Tumhare samne ban jaata hu," he murmured, brushing his lips against the same spot.

"Looking cute in my hoodie," he added with a smirk.

"Thanks," she smiled shyly, reaching for her clutch from the vanity.

"Kyu baand rahi ho? Khule rehne do na," he teased, noticing her about to tie her hair. She smiled softly and placed the clip back on the table.

"Hospital nahi jaana?" she asked.

"Kya kare, aapke bina kahi jaane ka mann nahi karta," he replied with theatrical charm.

She giggled. "Jao aur naha lo. Abhi gym se aaye ho. Hot toh lag rahe ho, par jake naha lo."

He grinned and walked into the bathroom. After his shower and time spent getting ready, he came back dressed in well-fitted black trousers and a plain black T-shirt. His hair was still damp, and his cologne clung to the air.

The room was empty now. Picking up his things, he headed downstairs. After sharing breakfast with the family, he left for the hospital-but not without kissing his wife's forehead and whispering once again, "Rest karna, okay?"

By afternoon, all the ladies of the house were gathered in Aakash and Shashi's room. Shashi, still in her oversized shirt and pants, sat cross-legged on the bed. Dhrishti was beside her, Akriti sat comfortably on a nearby chair, and Dadi Saa lovingly massaged Akriti's head.

"Shashi, how did he confess?" asked Akriti with a knowing grin.

Shashi blinked, startled. "How do-?"

"I saw Aakash's Instagram story," Akriti replied mischievously.

Shashi's cheeks turned red.

"Bata na," Dhrishti nudged her playfully.

"It was emotional... and that's when I understood how the whole misunderstanding had even begun."

"BTW," Dhrishti leaned in, smirking, "many things must have happened that night, right?"

"Bhabhiiii!" Shashi whined, hiding her face behind her hands.

"That's why my son isn't letting her walk much," Aparna added casually.

"Mummaaa! Aap toh mat tease karo..." Shashi cried.

Everyone laughed, and just then, Shashi's phone pinged. Aparna, who was sitting closest, picked it up and read the message aloud:

> "Hope you ate lunch, Rosebud. Please rest properly. Don't work. If it still pains, just message me. I'll be there... Love you. Take care."

Aparna smiled, handing her the phone. "Ab use reply toh de," she said gently.

Shashi smiled to herself and typed back:

> "No, it's not hurting anymore... Love you. Also, please don't skip your meal."

The others peeked and immediately teased her.

"Toh matlab ladka romantic hai," Akriti commented.

"Bilkul apne baap pe gaya hai," Dadi Saa added, throwing a glance at Aparna, who smiled silently.

Dhrishti added, "Waise batao, tum royi thi ya woh roye?"

Shashi groaned, hiding her face. "Sab milke mujhe maaroge kya aaj?"

Dadi Saa chuckled, "Beti, jab pyar itna gehra ho, to thoda chhedna bhi banta hai."

Akriti gasped dramatically, "Wait-don't tell me you fainted in his arms or something!"

Shashi rolled her eyes. "Bas karo ab, kuch bhi!"

Aparna teased gently, "Itna toh obvious hai beta, kal subah se tumhara chalne ka style badla hua hai."

The room exploded into laughter while Shashi buried herself into a pillow.

"You all are impossible!" she mumbled.

Dhrishti grinned, "We're just preparing you for motherhood. Imagine all this times hundred!"

Shashi, still blushing, tried changing the topic.

"BTW Shashi," Akriti spoke up again, "Miss Oberoi messaged Sarthak last night she would come, but she didn't."

"She messaged me too. Probably caught up with a meeting or deal. If she gets time, she'll come," Shashi said.

Everyone nodded in understanding.

Later that evening, Shashi stood in the kitchen, brewing herself a cup of coffee. She wore a white university-printed hoodie now-clearly one of Aakash's favorites-and her dark loose pants. Adarsh leaned on the counter beside her.

"So... everything's fine between you two?" he asked.

"More than fine. It's great," she smiled.

"Finally, something good is happening to you."

"I never imagined anyone could love me like he does."

"He really does love you. By the way, can I ask something?" Adarsh gave her a cheeky look. "Why couldn't you walk this morning? 'Cause I thought... some pretty bad things."

"That pretty bad thing happened," she muttered.

His eyes widened. She passed him the coffee calmly and smirked. "Don't act like you don't do it, Aadi."

He blinked, then laughed awkwardly and took a sip-just as Aakash walked in, hair still slightly wet, in black joggers and a fitted T-shirt.

"I told you not to work, and now I find you in the kitchen," he said, glaring softly at her.

"Aakash, I was just making coffee," she said calmly.

"You could have asked someone."

"Tu kab aaya hospital se?" Adarsh asked.

"Bas abhi. Nahane gaya tha, aur neeche aaya hoon kyunki madam ji rest nahi kar rahi hain," Aakash said with mock frustration.

"Aakash, stop now."

He immediately quieted down and stepped closer, hugging her. "I wasn't scolding, Rosebud. I just-"

"But I'm fine. No more discussion." She took her coffee and walked to the lawn.

Aakash followed without a word. Adarsh, shaking his head fondly, admired the peace his best friend had finally found.

Out in the lawn, Shashi sat on the bench alone, sipping her coffee. Aakash joined her quietly.

"Rosebud, I'm sorry."

"Accha, thik hai. Abse kuch nahi bolna."

She looked at him and hugged him gently. He wrapped his arms around her.

"Apka din kaisa tha?" she asked.

"Aapko yaad karte karte guzar gaya," he said, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead.

She smiled and buried her face in his chest.

"Aaj sab humare room mein baithe the. Tab bhabhi ne poocha how did you confess. When I asked her how she knew, she said she saw your Insta story."

"Hmm?" he waited, amused.

"Par tumne toh mujhe ek bhi photo nahi dikhayi, Aakash," she pouted.

"Ohh," he blinked, then pulled out his phone from his pocket. He showed her the gallery. She swiped until she reached the last one-a candid picture of them kissing.

Her eyes widened. "Yeh photo agar kisi ne dekhli toh?"

"Toh kya? Jis din humare bacche honge, mujhe nahi lagta koi humse puchega ki beta kaam kaise kiya." He replied shamelessly.

"Kitni beahrami bhari baatein kar rahe ho!" she laughed, slapping his chest lightly.

And he simply laughed, pulling her closer into the warmth of their little world.
