~after a week

Today was an extremely important and auspicious day for the family . Today was the day of Mahashivratri a divine devotion, eternal union, and spiritual awakening.

It is a day when time itself seems to slow—where every heartbeat echoes with “Om Namah Shivaya.” A day where love takes the shape of prayer, and silence speaks the loudest truths.

And being a shiv devotee janvi was extremely devoted to this festival , she had prepared a day before for each ritual

Today, she kept a fast .

Even rishi who never did all of these in his life had a fast today . When janvi said a night before that she has kept a fast rishi was very concerned about her health

He had his very obvious questions arising one after another

- what if you faint?

- what if you starve?

- no I'm not letting you do it ?

Until janvi scolded him saying she won't

Listen to him . Rishi said -"if you feel anything Like dizziness I'm not letting you stay Like that"

The whole family adorably looked at him who was getting scolded by his wife for being over protective

Today , the entire family not just the Mehta's but also the maheshwari's were  gathered in a temple

The ancient Shiv temple stood still beneath the early morning sky, bathed in a golden haze that clung softly to the marigold garlands swaying in the wind. Bells chimed faintly in the background, echoing like blessings through stone-carved halls. It was Mahashivratri—an auspicious day of devotion, of vows, of soul-binding silence and fire-lit prayers.

Draped in a regal crimson red Banarasi saree woven with gold zari buta motifs, Janvi looked nothing short of a divine painting come to life. The rich texture of the silk embraced her like heritage itself, its pallu gracefully pleated over her shoulder. Her blouse, adorned with golden brocade patterns, complemented the traditional elegance of the saree while hugging her slender frame with modest charm. Her wrists clinked softly with red glass bangles, intertwined with thin gold ones—marking her as a newlywed. A delicate red bindi centered her forehead, while her sindoor shimmered like sacred fire in the parting of her neatly tied hair.

Her jewellery echoed timeless grandeur. A heavy choker embedded with deep rubies clung to her neck, matched with long earrings brushing against her graceful neck. Her hair was coiled into a low bun decorated with fresh mogra gajra, diffusing a sweet fragrance that floated around her. A large red stone ring on her finger and soft golden heels completed her ensemble. As she stood barefoot before the Shiva lingam, eyes closed in prayer, she seemed not just a bride—but a living embodiment of Shakti.

Rishi wore a striking red kurta embellished with mirror and sequin work that caught the morning sun with every movement. The lightweight cotton-silk fabric shimmered subtly, staying true to the festive Mahashivratri mood while allowing him grace and comfort during rituals. His sleeves were rolled up slightly, revealing a red thread tied around his wrist—a quiet symbol of his spiritual sincerity. The embroidered placket of the kurta added a rich, artisanal finish that made him stand out not just as a CEO, but as Janvi’s proud husband.

He paired the kurta with a crisp white churidar, keeping the contrast simple yet elegant. A soft red tilak graced his forehead, his smile relaxed but meaningful as he stood beside Janvi with folded hands during the abhishek. No designer suit or three-piece could’ve captured his quiet charm better than this—he was traditional, rooted, and entirely present for her. A golden watch glinted on his wrist, his only accessory, save for the way his eyes followed Janvi with unwavering devotion—his most prized expression.

The first Mahashivratri after marriage is considered extremely sacred, and the couple usually performs the pooja together

It signifies strength, trust, and eternal bonding in their relationship, echoing the union of Shiv and Shakti.

And being a very newly wed couple janvi and rishi were performing the very first ritual shivling Abhishek

Under the soft glow of oil lamps, Janvi and Rishi stood side by side before the grand shivling, their hands joined as they poured a steady stream of milk over the black stone, its surface gleaming under the flickering flames. The coolness of the milk, the soft rustle of her red Banarasi saree, and the subtle jingle of her bangles blended with the low hum of “Om Namah Shivaya” resonating through the temple. Janvi’s eyes glistened—not just from the devotion, but from the joy of performing this sacred ritual for the first time with the man she now called her own. Rishi, usually calm and composed, closed his eyes as the bel patra touched the Shivling, whispering a silent prayer for her happiness, her peace—their forever. For a moment, time stilled; just Shiva, Parvati, and two souls becoming one in prayer.

After the very sacred ritual of shivling abhishek it was time for bhog - naivedya or prasad like sabudana khichdi, fruits, and sweets like kheer, milk-based laddus, and coconut were eaten by the devotees .

After the bhog the family gathered inside the temple to perform and hear Katha

The priest of the temple was narrating the Katha janvi was listening the Katha with concentration and focus .

She sat with her legs folded and the pallu covered around her Shoulders . Rishi sat beside her looking at her with his lips curved into a smile he cared about no one watching him doing all this he loved the way she looked effortlessly beautiful.

After the Katha when janvi seated beside him in the car while he took the driving seat and his most mischievous brother-sister sat at the back seat being busy in their own playful banter.

Janvi laughed whole heartedly whenever Akshay teased Ananya . and rishi just admired how beautiful she looked while laughing

Just in middle of a joke " by the way bhabhi , Rishi bhai ne apki tarif ki aaj aap itne sundar lag Rahe ho " said Akshay

Janvi furrowed her brows and said

" ab kisiko apne emails or laptop se fursat mile to yaad rakhe na ki ek biwi bhi hai "

She said looking at them and rishi's eyes widened realizing what he just missed

"Haww! Bhai aap itne unromantic ho "

Said Ananya in surprise

Janvi giggled looking out of the window

While Rishi said " ab shabd hi nahi bache na mere pass roz subah ek Apsara ko dekhke tarif karu kaise woh bhi jab vo bala ki khubsurat dikhe "

Janvi hid her blush and didn't looked at him " bhai maska mat lagao ab , bhabhi apse Naraz hai dekho apke taraf dekh bhi nahi rahe " said Ananya

Janvi tried to look angry and didn't even glance at him while he was sulking.

" Jaan I'm sorry" he apologised thinking she is actually angry

And just his jaan melted her even though she  still didn't looked at him

"Jaan " he called again , but no response

Even Akshay and Ananya giggled knowing their bhabhi wasn't actually upset .

"Ja'......" she cuts him in the middle

" dekhiye abhi dhyan se gadi chalaiye kahi kisiko thok na de hamari gadi " she said in angry tone

He gulped in fear and drove quietly .

After reaching their mansion janvi was inside the room looking at her Payal .

She was seated on the bed while looking at her Payal just then rishi arrived inside the room with a paper bag in his hand

"Urhmm" he cleared her throat

She didn't even glance at him .

"Dove" he called her softly

Janvi got up from the bed and walked toward the closet she returned with a nail paint in her hand and Started painting her nails.

Rishi knelt down before her and sat on the floor on his knees . He touched his forehead to her feat and then kissed her toe. The cold metal of her toe ring touched his lips

The moment was very sudden and unexpected for her . A shiver ran down her spine as he did that

" Rishi " she called him with amusement

" I'm sorry jaan but I really don't know how I forgot to praise this goddess when she looked effortlessly beautiful and gorgeously divine looking like Maa Parvati herself " his words touched Like butterflies to her .

" I'm very sorry " he gave her the paper bag

She didn't even glance at it and cupped his face gently leaned forward and kissed his forehead he looked at her with surprise

" I wasn't upset rishi " she said. His eyes widened and he said " don't tell me it was a prank invented by Akki and anu and you supported them"

( Akshay - Akki,  Ananya - anu )

She giggled "no they didn't do anything I just wanted to know what would you do if I'm upset with you "

He huffed " meri jaan nikal gayi thi , aap sach mein naraz nahi ho na "

She kissed him again on his forehead and said " no I'm actually really surprised

Aise konse Aache karm kiye the maine jo itna accha Pati milgaya mujhe "

He chuckled " mere to pakka purvajo ki mehnat rahi hogi tabhi to aap jesi milgayi "

" by the way apne bhi meri tarif nahi ki thi mrs.mehta " he said

" itne hot or tempting lag Rahe ho aap jese koi fictional novels ke male lead " she said

" aap bhi apni bestfriend ki Tarah pure fictional world ke deewane ho " He chuckled

" I'm not that mad as her , I've only read few books which she suggested me and she sends me" she said

(Only to clear your confusion they're talking about Shashi- Janvi’s bestfriend)

( if you have read _

love beyond the contract ~ shashi's love story you know how mad she is about books as she is an devoted reader & author)

Rishi said " woh roh sach mein puri pagal hai " they both chuckled together

" apne woh bag to kholke dekha hi nahi "

He said

Janvi looked at that bag and a box came out she opened the box and saw a box full of jhumaks the tin box was heart shaped and on the lid a sticky note was attached

Jaan I'm really sorry!

I don't know how can I be so idiot to not praise your efforts

I know I'm a jerk and I deserve punishment

And

I accept any punishment but please don't stop talking to me I wont be able to breath

~rishi

Janvi smiled and asked  "itni si der mein yeh sab kaise arrange Kiya apne "

" apke liye kisi bhi time kuch bhi la sakta hu madam bas aap naraz mat hona "

He said

"Agli baar agar main taiyar Hou na to please do bol tareef ke bol dena please "

She said

"Kabhi nahi bhulunga "
