-----------------------

An eternal stage carved from nature itsel.

Rows of ivory chairs stood in perfect harmony, their delicate florals mirroring the blossoms that danced along the emerald hedges. A murmuring fountain trickled softly at the altar beneath an arched kiellis, draped in white roses. Statues stood in solemn grace, as if guarding a love story centuries in the making.

The aisle, flowing like a silver river, wound its way gently through the garden-destined to be walked by two souls, ready to become one in the arms of paradise.

Today, the two souls were Janvi and Rishi.

---

Janvi's POV:

I had just finished with my hair and makeup. Now, I was sitting in front of my vanity, my mind overflowing with thoughts. I can't think straight... I don't know what I'm feeling. Am I okay? Or am I not?

Janvi, you're thinking too much. It's just... this decision. My whole life depends on it, doesn't it?

Just then, a soft, patient knock echoed at the door of my hotel room.

I said politely, "Come in."

A girl in hotel staff uniform walked in with a warm smile. "Ma'am, this was sent by Mr. Mehta," she said, handing over a beautifully arranged basket before leaving.

I looked at it-elegant tulips, a heart-shaped box of chocolates wrapped in a pink ribbon, a little candle, and most importantly, a white envelope with my name written in neat handwriting.

I unfolded the letter, my hands trembling slightly.

--

Dear Dovelet,

Hope you liked the chocolates.

Firstly, I want to thank you for entering my life.

I know you're probably overthinking a lot of things right now. Being a girl, it's natural-life is about to change completely. But meri jaan, take those rubbish thoughts out of your pretty little head.

This marriage isn't just an event-it's our beginning.

I promise you this:

No matter how difficult the days get, or how life twists and turns,

You are not alone.

From the moment we exchange our rings today,

You are mine. And I am yours.

Even after years, if ever your heart aches or your mind goes numb,

Call me. I won't let my dove feel alone.

Don't stress. If you need anything,

Just eat some chocolate... and text me.

~Rishi

---

Oh my God! How can someone be so sweet?

Tears welled up in my eyes, my cheeks flushed pink as I smiled through them. I kissed the letter gently, picked up my phone, and texted him:

"Thanks, Mr. Mehta."

But even that felt like too little for what I truly felt inside.

---

Author's POV:

The garden was filled with emotions. Janvi and Rishi walked together, hand in hand. Their families and friends cheered loudly.

Janvi looked ethereal in a lilac lehenga that shimmered like moonlight on still water. The skirt, adorned with delicate silver sequins and intricate embroidery, swayed with a soft elegance at every step, while her sheer, lavender dupatta cascaded over her shoulder like a wisp of stardust. Her off-shoulder blouse glistened under the night sky, revealing just enough to hint at grace and confidence. Beside her, Rishi stood tall in a pastel pink sherwani, the fabric rich with brocade patterns that whispered of royalty and old-world charm. His matching turban, crowned with a single feather and an ornate brooch, gave him a regal air-as if he were the moon to Janvi's starlit radiance. Together, they looked like a painting brought to life-soft, glowing, and timeless.

Some eyes sparkled with joy, others brimmed with tears-especially the couple's. Nothing else existed in that moment but love.

As they stood on the marble floor surrounded by family,

They exchanged rings.

Cheers, applause, and laughter filled the air.

The families congratulated each other, hugging, laughing, crying.

"Congratulations, Mrs. Mehta," whispered Rishi softly into Janvi's ear.

Janvi blushed and replied in the same tone, "Same to you, Mr. Mehta."

Evening - After the Guests Had Left

Only close friends and family remained at the hotel now.

Janvi's best friend Shashi seemed to be in a heated discussion with someone.

"Kya hua dono ko?" (What's wrong with these two now?) Janvi's mother, Rashmi, asked as everyone turned their eyes toward the girls.

"Mummy, aap hi dekho na. Yeh keh rahi hai ke yeh shaadi mein nahi aa sakti," Janvi said, irritation blazing in her eyes. (Mom, you see it yourself. She's saying she can't even attend the wedding.)

"Aunty, I'm just saying I can't attend the wedding," said Shashi calmly.

"Par kyun?" Rashmi asked. (But why?)

"Aunty, aapko pata hai na ki main kitni busy rehti hoon," Shashi tried to explain. (You know how busy I stay.)

"Ha, ab sab important hai mummy uske liye-uska kaam, uska hospital-sab Janvi se zyada important hai," Janvi snapped. (Yeah right, everything's important now-her job, her hospital-everything is more important than Janvi.)

"Janvi, stop making me sound like a villain! I just said I can't attend the wedding," Shashi replied.

"What the hell, Shashi? Tu har baar saath thi na meri life mein? Ab kya ho gaya?" Janvi shot back. (You've been there for me always. What happened now?)

"Please meri baat maan le," Shashi pleaded. (Please try to understand.)

"Bas karo dono!" Rashmi interrupted. (That's enough, both of you!)

"Dekh Janvi, uska kaam important hai. Tu itna hyper kyu ho rahi hai?" Rashmi tried to calm her daughter. (Janvi, her work is important. Why are you getting so hyper?)

"Aunty, iski aadat hai. Pehle to baat baat pe chudail ban jaati hai," Shashi said, rolling her eyes. (Aunty, it's her habit. She turns into a witch for everything.)

"Main tereko zinda nahi chhodungi," Janvi said, glaring. (I won't spare you alive.)

"Bro, pehle saans to le," Shashi replied, smirking. (Bro, breathe first.)

"Bro, bas 20 din ki baat hai. Uske baad pakka permanently tere saath Pune shift ho jaungi," Shashi promised. (Bro, it's just about 20 days. After that, I swear I'll shift to Pune with you permanently.)

"Tu kab batane waali thi?" Janvi said sarcastically. (Oh, when were you going to inform ?)

"Dr. Nalayak," Janvi muttered. (Useless doctor.)
