32 - THREADS OF FIRE

"So... my dear wife," he whispered, his voice low and teasing as he nuzzled into her neck, breathing in her scent.

"A... Aakash," she gasped, struggling to find her voice.

"Umm hmm," he hummed against her skin.

"I... I can't," she stammered, her words faltering on trembling lips.

"Shhhh," he hushed her again, his lips brushing against the sensitive spot behind her ear.

"I just kissed your soft neck, swear me heart, but..." he paused, and she looked at him with eyes wide in anticipation.

"I would like to taste those soft petal lips, sweetu," he murmured, his voice dripping with desire. Her eyes widened even more, her body tense.

"Aa..." she tried to speak, but the words dissolved into the heat of his touch. His hands had already begun their slow exploration beneath her kurti, fingertips trailing fire along her skin.

"Kahiye..." (Say it...) he urged, his fingers toying with the delicate hook of her bra, teasing her, heightening the tension.

"Sweetheart, if you say the word, I might go beyond your lips and..." he smirked wickedly.

"Mr. Rajput..." she warned, but before she could finish, he had already pinned her to the nearest wall. His one hand locked her wrists above her head, while the other caressed her bare back, igniting shivers.

He leaned in, lips tracing the outline of hers. Her breath came in short, rapid bursts, her chest rising and falling against his.

A sudden, loud knock shattered the charged moment.

Aakash closed his eyes and groaned in frustration. "Damn it..."

"Aakash," she whispered, cheeks flushed, breathless.

"Ji," he replied with a grumble.

"The door," she said, her voice still shaky.

"Can you open it, sweetheart?" he asked, but made no move to let her go. Instead, he tightened his grip, pulling her flush against him. Their bodies collided, heartbeats thundering.

"Aakash..." she called again, flustered.

"Darwaza kholiye, sweetheart." (Open the door, sweetheart.) His voice was mischievous, teasing.

She glared at him just as another round of loud knocking echoed through the room.

"Bro! Darwaza khol!" (Bro! Open the door!) It was Aadarsh's voice.

"This fucker..." muttered Aakash under his breath.

"Aakash, leave me," she said firmly.

But instead of complying, Aakash trailed his thumb along her navel.

"Ahhh Aakash," she moaned, startled by her own voice. Her eyes widened in disbelief at the unholy sound that escaped her lips.

She banged her head against his chest in embarrassment.

Wriggling free from his hold, she rushed to the door and flung it open. Aadarsh stood outside, looking concerned.

"Tu thik hai?" (Are you okay?) Aadarsh asked, his eyes narrowing.

"Haan haan, mujhe kya hua?" (Yes, yes. What happened to me?) she responded, trying to sound normal.

"Tera pura chehra laal hai." (Your whole face is red.) He pointed out.

"Pata nahi." (No idea.) She muttered, still flustered.

"Achha, main yeh batane aaya tha ki... didu aayi hai and she is calling you." (Alright, I came to tell you... didu has arrived and she's calling you.)

He disappeared before she could respond.

Shashi was about to step out of the doorway when a possessive arm snaked around her waist and pulled her inside with a gasp. Her feet lifted off the ground as he locked the door behind them.

"Sweetheart, wear your dupatta first," he said with a teasing smile. He draped it properly over her shoulder and pressed a tender kiss to her shoulder blade.

Later, they descended the stairs together, side by side, looking calm and composed despite the storm they'd just stirred in private.

"Yes, Didu, you called?" Shashi asked, glancing at Laksha.

"No, I want to talk with Aakash," Laksha said, standing up from her seat and buttoning her blazer with quiet authority.

Laksha and Aakash excused themselves and walked out of the mansion, with Lee-Yoon trailing behind silently like a shadow.

"Shashi," Sarthak called her.

"Ji bhai?" (Yes, brother?) she responded.

"Advik kahaan hai?" (Where's Advik?)

"Woh toh Advik ke saath khel raha hai." (He's playing with Advik.) Shashi replied softly.

Outside...

"Did you understand everything?" Laksha asked Aakash, her tone serious.

"Yes," he nodded.

"She shouldn't get even a hint. I know she overthinks these things a lot," said Laksha, crossing her arms.

"Don't worry. I'll keep her busy," Aakash reassured her.

"So... how is she?" Laksha asked with a knowing smile.

"She's... pretty for sure," he chuckled, then added with a sigh, "a bit moody."

"It's very difficult to handle her. But now you will have to do it," she said firmly.

"And I'll do it happily... for my whole life," he replied, his voice full of emotion.

"Good luck," she said simply.

"So now... let's go inside?" he asked.

"Yup. And please pack your bags now. Tomorrow we have to leave," she reminded him.

Back inside, everyone was comfortably seated in the living room.

Laksha and Aakash entered and settled on the couch. Laksha looked toward Shashi.

"Shashi," she called.

"Hmm?" Shashi responded.

"You wanted to know if they are alive or not, right?" Laksha said, and Shashi nodded slowly.

"Lee-Yoon," Laksha signaled, and he nodded, handing her a file.

"Here." Laksha passed it to Shashi. She opened it and began reading carefully.

Everyone watched the exchange in confusion, wondering what was going on between the two women.

"I wonder how they are still living at the same location," Shashi smirked.

"Paisa ho toh raaj kare na." (If you have money, you rule.) Laksha responded coolly.

"Unke laute saput ne raaj kamaya nahi kya?" (Didn't their only heir earn that rule?) Shashi added with sarcasm.

"Unke ghar ka deepak, ek jyoti ke peeche pagal ho gaya hoga." (The lamp of their house must've gone crazy chasing a flame.) Laksha smirked.

"Bhagwan inhe khushi-khushi apne paas le jaye." (May God take them away peacefully.) Shashi muttered.

"Toh apne ko inke saath kuch nahi karna hai?" (So we don't have to do anything to them?) asked Laksha.

"Nahi Didu, mujhe bas jaan na tha ki yeh Asura ka poora samaaj zinda hai ya nahi." (No, Didu, I just wanted to know whether this whole clan of demons is still alive or not.) Shashi said with quiet resolve.

The family remained puzzled but chose not to question them. Everyone continued talking and laughing, while Shashi sat beside Aadarsh, playing with Advik.

"Tum dono kiske baare mein baat kar rahe the?" (Whom were you both talking about?) he asked her curiously.

"Humare wahi dushman, jinse bachpan se nafrat ki hai." (Our same enemies... the ones we've hated since childhood.) she replied.

"Your whole paternal family?" Aadarsh asked.

"Yes... you know everything, Aadi," she said quietly.

"Yes, I remember," he nodded.

"Forget it," she said, and he gave a silent nod, not pushing further.

Later that night, everyone had an early dinner since they had to pack for their trip to Japan for the banquet.

The couple was now in their room. Shashi was cozily curled up, sipping her warm turmeric milk while reading her novel. Aakash was rummaging in the closet, searching for the best outfits.

Once he finished packing, he walked back into the room and saw her carelessly flipping through her book.

"Mrs. Rajput," he called, folding his arms.

"Yes?" she replied, not looking up.

"Aren't you packing your stuff?" he asked.

"I only need to pack my night suits, Aakash. I got a message from Abhi that all my clothes and outfits are already at the mansion," she explained.

"Ohh... so do you want me to pack your stuff?" he asked, playfully.

"No, I'll do it," she said, stepping down from the bed.

"Let me help you," he offered, coming to her side.

"Your wish," she shrugged with a smile.

It didn't take them long. Shashi wasn't into makeup or skincare; she just packed some

comfy clothes, her nightwear, and slippers.
